Yup, these were the three screws which were removed from my foot

Got the doctors to also cut away this growth that I had near the right near as a result of a flesh infection

Photobucket
Guess the doctors did make the cut at the same places as the first operation!

Next up, removal of stitches on 27 December, follow up appointment with the doctors on 29 December, and hopefully, physiotherapy and walking soon!!!

Some pictures of the house - First appointment at HDB settled!

Well, there has been some unhappiness at the first appointment. Let's just say that we have learnt our lesson, and will never look for an inexperienced agent to act on our behalf. Oh well, let's not dwell on the unhappiness.

Today, we went down to HDB and signed all the papers, including the one that makes us in debt for the next 30 years of our lives! haha..

Some pictures of the house!

Removing this, so this side of the kitchen is also clutter free

So as you can see, there are a lot of work to be done on this house!!

The journey of a broken foot part I

The second day after the accident (15 Oct 2010), I received a call in the morning from CGH.

The senior doctor told me that the A&E doctor might have missed out diagnosing that I suffered from not a simple fracture, but actually a lis-franc fracture with some broken and misaligned bones. We were told to go back to the hospital for a check

A comparison

After going through the xrays again and checking my foot, I was told that I might require an operation to reset the bones and let the bones heal straight. Right now, I was told to rest and elevate my foot

Removed the gauze on the abrasions of the right knee

On 21 October 2010, we headed to CGH for my follow up appointment. Imagine our shock when we were told "ok you are getting admitted today. We will do a scan on you tomorrow, and you will be operated on on Monday." and just like that, I was admitted.

On 22 October 2010, my bandage was removed. Marcus, Mayvis and Alvin along with me were all shocked when we saw my foot after the bandage was removed.

The sole was all bruised

I was put on a drip, and prepared for the operation which will take place on the 24th.

My operation was originally scheduled to be at 10am, but after I showered at 7+am, I was informed by the nurses that my operation was pushed to be the first for the day. I barely had time to call Marcus and inform him, and send out some mass sms to the family to inform of the change in operation timing before I was pushed in.

When I woke up around 10+am at the recovery area of the operating theatre, the first thing I did was to start crying. The amount of pain I felt in my right foot was so bad. I could feel as though some one was taking a hard object and screwing it through the bones. Doctors came, and administered 3mg of morphine into my vines. Later, I learnt that I was administered a total of 8mg of morphine. 5mg was administered during the operation itself, as the operation required clamping, and shifting and resetting of the bones, along with drilling to insert the screws and the screwing in of the screws.. No wonder I woke up feeling so painful.

When I was pushed back into the ward, the pain was still rather painful, and I was still tearing (I didn't literally cry like out loud.. All the while, it was just continuous tears flowing down my face). Marcus saw me, and I think I shocked him. He was telling me that it must have hurt damned bad. Cause he saw me frowning while sleeping...

This was how my foot was bandaged after the operation

Two days later, I was discharged.

Where I had the drip in me, this was also where they administered the morphine into my vein, as well as the antibiotics

Finally, on 4 November 2010, my stitches were to be removed

And this was how my wound looked like without the stitches

A few weeks later, this was how my foot looked like after constant swelling during the day and de-swelling at night when I have the foot elevated

Photobucket
Scary right?

I also started to shed skin around 20 November 2010. Haha, guess that's what happens when your skin goes through the process of inflating and deflating.

I am due to be back in the hospital on 9 December 2010 for a review to see how the bones have healed, and hopefully, be able to get the operation date early to get the screws out.

I have been going a bit bonkers staying in the room with four walls around me, unable to walk around all this while.. I can't wait to walk/run/jump around... I miss holding Marcus' hand while we walk side by side.. Now, he has to push me around on the wheelchair.. and it makes going out so inconvenient...
